Cadrage Directors Viewfinder

Cadrage is a director’s viewfinder app for your Android device. Plan your shots with precise framing previews of any professional camera/lens combination and make sure everybody is on the same page during preproduction and on set.If you work in filmmaking you are probably familiar with traditional director’s viewfinders: They have been around for decades allowing the director and cinematographer to quickly frame shots without having to move the camera. This established tool is now taken to the next level: Using the camera of your smartphone, Cadrage is able to accurately simulate the framing of any camera and lens setup. Preview shots instantly and get ready to shoot faster. Whether you are a film student or a seasoned filmmaker, this app assists you in getting the most out of your shooting day.
Blocking out a scene, storyboarding or scouting a location? Now you have hundreds of cameras right in your pocket! Select your camera and aspect ratio, then choose between zoom and prime lenses and Cadrage Director's Viewfinder will show you what’s in your frame by simulating the field of view of your setup. It’s an indispensable tool for directors, cinematographers, steadicam operators, location scouts, photographers and all other filmmaking and photography professionals.
Cadrage has a built-in gallery and project manager to organize your snapshots. All important information like format, focal length, compass orientation and GPS data can be displayed for each snapshot in the gallery. From there you can email them or export images for use in storyboards.
We've included all commonly used professional camera formats (see list below), but in case you don’t find your camera in the database, you can easily create custom formats. Cadrage supports spherical and anamorphic (1.3x, 1.5x, 2x) lenses and also the use of Metabones Speedbooster adapters that have become very popular in filmmaking.
The app has a built-in tool to calibrate the field of view of your device's camera, which is essential for accurate previews. You can also use any wide/tele lens attachments on your phone to expand the field of view.
